Keeping your weight down becomes more and more difficult as you age. In addition to eating a healthy diet low in fats and sugars, it is important to exercise as well. Whether you're a regular working girl or a celebrity, working out is tough to fit into a busy schedule. Luckily, celebrities have shared their secrets for losing weight and staying in shape with the media and many of these tips are easy to fit into any lifestyle.
Kristen Bell isn't anywhere near the middle-ages yet, but her advice to get moving while being social is great at any age. She says, "It's so hard to schedule workouts, so I try to do activities with my friends — instead of going to the movies on Saturday, we'll go play Ultimate Frisbee or go hiking with the dogs or go bike riding. Something that's social, but also gives you a workout."
News anchor Cynthia McFadden loves her carbs, but has discovered that giving them up has led to some serious weight loss. She shares, "I stopped eating everything that I like. My idea of the perfect meal is pasta with a baked potato and some bread. But instead, I ate a lot of fish and veggies and lost 35 pounds."
Kim Catrrall has played a sex symbol well into her 50s. Her secret to always being in shape? "I own a pair of jeans that fit great and are most comfortable when my weight is just right. When I'm feeling heavy, or I've been overindulging, I'll try on those jeans. If I have to lie down on my back to get the zipper up, I know it's time to cut back on desserts and bread and step up the cardio."
Diane Sawyer was a beauty queen before she was a primetime fixture. She stays youthful by staying hydrated. "I try to drink a ton of water. And here's my tip: Cut up slices of lime and put them into your ice cube tray, then drop lime ice cubes in your water. It makes it so much better than plain water."
Lisa Rinna doesn’t just have plastic surgery to look good; she also works out and eats right. Her snack tip is classic, "A sliced Fuji apple with two tablespoons of reduced-fat peanut butter: I like the tart-sweet flavor of apples, and the protein in the peanut butter curbs my appetite."
