If you have the inclination, it's possible to make your own anti aging products out of natural ingredients that can probably be found in your kitchen. While commercial anti aging products often work wonders, they may contain ingredients that are considered harmful in other contexts. Many organic and natural skincare companies offer products without these ingredients, but they must include preservatives to give their products a shelf life outside the refrigerator. Natural anti-aging products go back to ancient times and can be whipped up on an as-needed basis using the following ingredients:

Raw egg yolk: moisturizes

Cold-pressed virgin olive oil: moisturizes

Raw, wild honey: disinfects and heals

Kosher salt: exfoliates

Lemon: brightens (can be too harsh for dry or sensitive skin)

Avocado: nourishes

Kiwi: nourishes

Sugar: exfoliates

For a facial mask, combine beaten egg yolks with one teaspoon of cold-pressed virgin olive oil and one teaspoon of raw, wild honey. To help the honey melt easily, use a hot spoon to stir it in, being careful not to cook the egg. After the ingredients are mixed, apply to the face for twenty minutes before removing with warm water.

You can also try applying a beaten egg yolk on it's own and leaving it on for 15-20 minutes.

For a gentle exfoliator, combine one teaspoon of raw, wild honey with half a teaspoon of kosher salt. Gently massage into the skin before rinsing with warm water.

To help even out skin tone, use lemon juice. Simply halve a lemon and rub over affected areas. If the lemon is too acidic, it can also be combined with a mashed avocado to make a soothing mask.

Use the kiwi in a variety of applications to help fight signs of aging. For a mask, simply mash a kiwi with a fork and apply to the face, leaving it on for 20 minutes. Then rinse.

For a facial scrub, combine mashed kiwi with white or brown sugar and rub over face and body. Rinse and pat dry.

For a hand treatment, combine mashed kiwi with cold-pressed virgin olive oil. Apply to the backs of hands and leave on for 20 minutes. To do the whole hand, cover with gloves before rinsing off and washing and drying gloves for reuse.

As a moisturizer, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil works great. Apply a small amount to the face and neck before bed. It can also be used all over the body in place of lotion and can even be substituted for shaving cream.
